Mesotherapy Pre and Post Care Information For Aestheticians

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE MESOTHERAPY TREATMENT

Pre-Treatment Advice

  • No alcohol for 24 hours prior to the treatment
  • Avoid taking Aspirin or anti-inflammatories for 3 days before the treatment
  • If you’re bruising easily, it is recommend to take Arnica tablets 7 days prior to the treatment
  • Drink plenty of water to maintain hydration after the treatment
  • Eat some solid food prior to the treatment

Aftercare

  • No alcohol for 48 hours, alcohol dehydrates creating opposite effect
  • Refrain from exercise or any strenuous activity for 48 hours (sweat will excrete the solution out the pores, decrease of effectiveness)
  • Do not wash the area for at least 8 hours after treatment
  • No sun exposure for 48 hours after treatment and until bruising subsides
  • Arnica gel could be used to help with the bruising
  • Drink plenty of water to activate the treatment

Contraindications

  • Hyperthyroid
  • Allergy to iodine
  • Heart conditions – arrhythmia, blood clots
  • Taking multiple heart medications
  • Pacemaker
  • Blood clotting disorders or current therapy with drugs inhibiting blood clotting, e.g. Warfarin, vitamin K, vitamin C or sclerogen agents (Sclerovein, Scleremo, haemorrhoid gel)
  • Insulin dependent diabetes
  • History of recent cancer
  • Renal and liver disorders – i.e. dialysis
  • Thrombosis
  • History of anaphylactic shock, fainting
  • Keloids or hypertrophic scars
  • Auto-immune diseases
  • Infection in the vicinity of the treatment site
  • Current therapy with a certain class of uncommonly used antibiotics, known as the amino glycosides
  • Herpes simplex without prophylaxis
  • Pregnant or planning pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
  • Less then 6 weeks post-natal
  • Epilepsy (on medication)
  • Circulatory problems
  • Drugs causing skin sensitivity
  • Skin diseases and allergies
